1/2 tsp black pepper
4 hamburger buns
4 slices of cheese (optional)
Lettuce, tomato, onion (optional)
Ketchup, mustard, mayonnaise (optional)

Instructions:
1. Prepare the patties:
In a bowl, mix the ground beef with salt and pepper. Divide into 4 equal portions and shape into round patties.
2. Preheat the grill or pan:
Heat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat. Lightly oil or butter the surface.
3. Cook the patties:
Place the patties on the grill. Cook for about 3–4 minutes on each side, or until they reach your desired doneness.
(Add cheese slices during the last minute if using.)
4. Toast the buns:
Lightly toast the buns on the grill or in a pan for about 1 minute.
5. Assemble the burger:
Place the cooked patty on the bottom half of the bun. Add lettuce, tomato, onion, and sauces as desired.
Cover with the top bun.
6. Serve and enjoy!
Serve hot with fries or a salad on the side.
