Ingredients:
2 slices of ciabatta or focaccia bread
2 tbsp butter or olive oil
4 slices of deli meat (chicken, turkey, ham, or roast beef)
2 slices of cheese (provolone, mozzarella, or cheddar)
2 slices of tomato
A handful of arugula or spinach (optional)
1 tbsp mayonnaise or pesto (optional)
Instructions:
1. Prepare the sandwich:
Spread butter or olive oil on the outer sides of the bread.
On the inner side, spread mayonnaise or pesto if using.
Layer the deli meat, cheese, tomato slices, and greens.
2. Grill the panini:
Heat a panini press or a grill pan over medium heat.
Place the sandwich on the grill and press down with a heavy pan if using a stovetop.
Cook for 3–5 minutes on each side until golden brown and the cheese melts.
3. Serve:
Remove from the grill, slice in half, and enjoy hot!
