Ingredients:
12 pre-made tart shells
1/2 cup (115g) unsalted butter, softened
1 cup (200g) brown sugar
2 tablespoons (30ml) maple syrup or corn syrup
1 large egg
1 teaspoon (5ml) vanilla extract
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup (75g) raisins or chopped pecans (optional)
Instructions:
1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
2. Prepare the tart shells by placing them on a baking tray.
3. Make the filling: In a bowl, whisk together butter, brown sugar, syrup, egg, vanilla, and salt until smooth.
4. Add the filling: Divide raisins or nuts among the tart shells, then pour the filling mixture over them, filling each about 2/3 full.
5. Bake for 15–20 minutes, or until the filling is bubbly and the crust is golden brown.
6. Cool and serve: Let the tarts cool before serving.
