Ingredients:
500g ground beef (or a mix of beef and pork)
1/2 cup breadcrumbs
1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
1/4 cup chopped parsley
2 cloves garlic (minced)
1 egg
Salt and pepper to taste
Olive oil (for frying)
2 cups marinara sauce (or any tomato sauce)
Instructions:
1. Mix the Ingredients:
In a large bowl, combine ground meat, breadcrumbs, Parmesan, parsley, garlic, egg, salt, and pepper. Mix until well combined, but don't overmix.
2. Form the Meatballs:
Shape the mixture into small balls (about the size of a golf ball).
3. Cook the Meatballs:
Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat.
Add the meatballs and cook until browned on all sides (about 7–10 minutes).
Remove from the pan and set aside.
4. Simmer in Sauce:
Pour the marinara sauce into the skillet and bring to a simmer.
Add the meatballs back into the sauce.
Cover and cook on low heat for 20–30 minutes until the meatballs are cooked through and juicy.
5. Serve:
Serve hot over spaghetti, in a sandwich, or with a side of garlic bread. Garnish with extra Parmesan and fresh basil if desired.
