Ingredients:
8 oz (225g) fettuccine pasta
2 tbsp olive oil or butter
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 cup heavy cream
1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
Salt and pepper to taste
Fresh parsley for garnish (optional)
Instructions:
1. Cook the pasta:
Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil.
Add the fettuccine pasta and cook according to the package instructions (usually 8–10 minutes) until al dente.
Drain the pasta, reserving 1/2 cup of pasta water.
2. Make the sauce:
In a large skillet, heat the olive oil or butter over medium heat.
Add the minced garlic and sauté for 1–2 minutes until fragrant, but not browned.
Pour in the heavy cream and bring to a simmer. Let it cook for 3–5 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Gradually add the grated Parmesan cheese, stirring until the sauce becomes smooth and creamy.
Season with salt and pepper to taste.
3. Combine the pasta and sauce:
Add the cooked fettuccine to the skillet with the sauce.
