Margherita Pizza

 Ingredients:


1 pizza dough (store-bought or homemade)


1/2 cup tomato sauce (preferably marinara or pizza sauce)


1 1/2 cups fresh mozzarella cheese, sliced


Fresh basil leaves


Olive oil (for drizzling)


Salt and pepper (to taste)


Optional: A pinch of oregano



Instructions:


1. Preheat your oven to 475°F (245°C).



2. Roll out the pizza dough on a floured surface to your desired thickness.



3. Place the dough on a pizza stone or baking sheet.



4. Spread a thin layer of tomato sauce evenly over the dough, leaving a small border around the edges for the crust.



5. Arrange the slices of mozzarella cheese on top of the sauce.



6. Season with a little salt and pepper, and optionally sprinkle with oregano.



7. Bake the pizza in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes, or until the crust is golden and the cheese has melted and bubbled.



8. Once baked, remove the pizza from the oven and drizzle with a little olive oil.



9. Top with fresh basil leaves.



10. Slice and serve immediately!
