French Toast Recipe

 Ingredients:


4 slices of bread (preferably thick and slightly stale)


2 eggs


1/2 cup milk (or cream for richer flavor)


1 tsp vanilla extract (optional)


1/2 tsp cinnamon (optional)


Pinch of salt


Butter (for frying)


Maple syrup, powdered sugar, or fruits (for serving)

Instructions:


1. In a shallow bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, vanilla extract, cinnamon, and a pinch of salt.



2. Heat a skillet or griddle over medium heat and add a bit of butter.



3. Dip each slice of bread into the egg mixture, coating both sides well.



4. Place the soaked bread slices onto the hot skillet.



5. Cook for about 2–3 minutes per side, or until golden brown.



6. Serve hot with maple syrup, powdered sugar, or fresh fruit.
